Jenji Kohan is an American television writer and producer, best known for creating the renowned Netflix drama Orange Is the New Black.

Kohan is the writer of one episode of the show, ep. 1.07, "Kiss and Tell." Most recently, she has been the showrunner of Netflix's "Orange is the New Black." In 2005 she created the Showtime television show, "Weeds," as well as writing episodes for that show (including the pilot, for which she won a Writer's Guild Award). She has also won an Emmy for writing on "Tracey Takes On...". Other shows she has written for include "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," "Mad About You," "Sex and the City," and "Boston Common."
